Overview Spathe is currently searching for a Senior Systems Engineer•Lead to join our team in the Ft. Bragg, NC area. Spathe Systems is a rapidly growing SOF led, 8(a) defense contractor headquartered in Tampa, FL with offices in Fayetteville, NC and strategic partner locations in Virginia Beach and Coronado. Responsibilities The Senior Systems Engineer•Lead will provide full life-cycle support for all system services to include installation, testing, monitoring, and operation and maintenance. This person will perform on-site and cloud-based concepts, including Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) models, servicing, repairs, and installation of customer owned products. Provides technical support to customers on operational and maintenance aspects of system equipment and serves as the customer contact for technical and service-related problems. Install, configure, and maintain OS Systems such as Microsoft Windows 10 and 11, Microsoft Windows 2016, 2019, and 2022 server, and Redhat Enterprise Linux 8 and newer.
Provides advanced administration, design, and support of the IT Systems infrastructure and services.
This includes, but is not limited to, data center infrastructure such as racks, PDUs, UPSs, servers, virtual hosts, storage, etc. including their associated operating systems and applications.
This also includes directory services, backup systems, cloud systems, remote access systems and other Platform as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions.
Administer Active Directory Users, Groups, OU’s, DNS, DHCP.
Manage Microsoft Active Directory to include implementation of GPOs to support the implementation of STIG settings on file and print services, DNS, Domain Controllers and application servers.
Managing Windows systems, including Windows Server 2019, Window Server 2022, to include Windows STIG deployment.
Experience with Enterprise Backup software.
Perform periodic Operating System and application updates and patches.
Install, Configure and Support Applications such as Oracle based applications, and End User based applications such as MS Office 2016 and newer, Visual Basic, C, C++, etc.
Perform Database installation and sustainment for Microsoft SQL Server and other database systems.
Install and maintain Intel based physical server (i.e. troubleshoot hardware components such as memory, CPU, Motherboard, NIC, Disks, Raid Controllers, etc).
Configure and Support NetApp SAN (i.e. Create Disk Pools, Raid Group, LUNS)
Support HP and Dell laptop hardware.
Leads architectural design and technical road mapping for the IT Systems infrastructure and services.
Exhibits technical leadership and mentors other less-experienced IT Systems Administrators.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of emerging tools and technologies.
Performs a variety of advanced technical duties and administrative functions to plan, design, configure, implement, maintain, and support the IT Systems infrastructure and services in a manner that assures optimal performance, high availability, and security.
Configures and installs various hardware (e.g. racks, standalone servers, blade servers, virtual hosts, SAN infrastructure, PDUs, UPSs, etc.) and their associated operating systems and applications.
Performs Tier 1 through Tier 3 technical support and troubleshooting of the IT Systems infrastructure and services to identify and resolve the root cause of failure or fault.
Performs maintenance and upgrades including operating system upgrades, patches, hotfixes and security configurations to minimize security vulnerabilities and reliability issues resulting from defective or outdated code.
Uses, configures and maintains tools to monitor, track, and manage IT Systems infrastructure and services.
Coordinates with network engineers to architect systems and implement fixes or improvements to the system.
Coordinates with cybersecurity to assist with RMF processes, creation of documentation, identification of controls and STIGs, and implementation of cybersecurity requirements. Qualifications BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
