The Principal Platform Engineer partners with a wide cross-section ofpartners to create innovative and compelling experiences for ourTruist clients. Responsible for defining, championing, building,delivering, and measuring products/platforms and strategies for theirsegment. This role manages and leads high performing productmanagement teams consisting of product managers, product owners,and product analysts. This role is pivotal in building resilient,observable, and policy-compliant software systems that powermission-critical business functions. Leveraging technologies likeJava, Python, Helm, Kubernetes, and event-driven architectures, youwill deliver reusable software patterns with embedded controls tomeet enterprise security, compliance, and risk managementstandards. The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader who cantranslate architectural vision into production-ready, scalable code witha focus on governance-as-code and automation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND

Specific activities may change from time to time. Responsible for leading a team of product managers and product owners, setting direction and priorities for products, services, and experiences. 1. Responsible for understanding industry landscape, competitive environment, and voice of client2. Develop product roadmaps in collaboration with Relationship Managers and Line of Business (LOB) partners.3. Manage teams that develop and groom backlog from EPICS down to user stories in partnership with LOB, User Experience/User Interface, Content, Technology, and Operations4. Partner with Tech Agile teams on development, rollout, and post-production support5. Partner with Legal, Risk, & Compliance on new product development and remediation when applicable6. Partner with associated LOBs, marketing, operation, and readiness teams on commercialization and rollout7. Responsible for the client experience/results/KPIs of assigned platforms8. Manage product pricing, including modeling pricing changes9. Manage annual budget, including monthly forecasting10. Hire, mentor and manage team members; proactively provide timely, candid, and constructive performance feedback in efforts to cultivate appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning11. Responsible for leading teams across related but disparate functions to support successful deployment of new products and integrated experiences
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

A minimum of seven+ years in a combination of professional services and financial services industry2. Five+ years of product management experience3. Deep understanding of software development methodologies and best practices4. Deep and broad experience in digital banking, financial services, or other complex transactional services5. Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives and large scale projects6. Demonstrable understanding and application of digital concepts and technology7. Ability to lead initiatives throughout the software development lifecycle, including post implementation8. Bachelors’ degree in business, engineering, design, or technology field; banking or financial management education or equivalent education and related training9. Strong strategic thinker, with ability to quickly assess complex problems, prioritize key issues, and focus on relevant facts10. Demonstrated experience in managing a varied team of professionals in a project-based environment and a proven ability to coach and develop a team11. Outstanding skills presenting/communicating ideas and data to Executive level leaders12. Sound business judgment and ability to build a business case around a product or service13. Expert relationship builder; developing open, effective, considerate, and productive working relationships. Can “work the matrix” and gain credibility quickly with internal and external constituents.14. Preferred Qualifications:
1. Masters’ of Business Administration (MBA) degree or Master’sdegree in business, engineering, design, or technology field; bankingor financial management education2. Experience in banking, insurance, financial services, and/orinvestments across multiple client segments including consumer,small business, wealth and commercial business.3. Familiarity with zero-trust security patterns, mutual TLS, servicemesh, and container vulnerability scanning tools.4. Demonstrated experience with event-driven (Kafka) source/sinkintegration and design.5. Advanced understanding of platform resiliency, chaos engineering,and graceful degradation strategies under fault scenarios.
