DevOps Manager
Piper Companies is seeking a DevOps Manager to lead our DevOps team in building the next generation of Wealth Management systems, focusing on system stability, performance, and monitoring. This role requires hands-on expertise and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. Responsibilities of the
DevOps Manager:
Manage a team of DevOps engineers across all stacks. Promote growth and collaboration within the team and across departments. Manage highly scalable and distributed systems on cloud-based platforms. Automate infrastructure-develop configuration management code for scalability, reliability, and security. Identify key system metrics and ensure comprehensive monitoring of new and existing services. Build resiliency mechanisms to maintain platform health and performance. Oversee deployments, upgrades, and configurations in controlled production environments. Lead complex, high-visibility projects requiring expertise across multiple domains. Provide strategic guidance on different DevOps approaches. Qualifications of the
DevOps Manager:
5+ years of managing a team. Also, AWS expertise with hands-on cloud operations. Linux proficiency (RedHat, Ubuntu, etc.) for troubleshooting and management. Experience operating and troubleshooting SQL databases in production environments. Kubernetes, Docker, and HashiCorp products for containerized infrastructure. Expertise in automation/configuration management (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet). Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Artifactory, Git, etc.). Project management skills with subject matter expertise and technical leadership. Proficiency in APM tools (NewRelic, AppDynamics, Dynatrace) and monitoring/log analysis tools (Splunk, CloudWatch, Nagios, SysDig).
