The Enterprise Solution/Technical Architect provides strategic guidance for the technical design of scalable, secure application solutions aligned with business needs across DHHS. The role focuses on developing architecture frameworks, evaluating new technologies, and ensuring technical alignment with departmental and regulatory standards. This position resides within the Application Portfolio Management Office (APMO) of the Medicaid – Purple Portfolio under the Information Technology Division (ITD). This position supports the broader mission of ITD and the Department by shaping technology strategy, improving system interoperability, and maintaining compliance. The architect’s contributions will directly support the success of initiatives tied to the Modular Medicaid Enterprise System (MES), impacting healthcare delivery across Medicaid, Mental Health, and Public Health domains.

Key Duties Include:

Provide technical leadership across Business, Application, Database, Infrastructure, and Security architecture domains. Develop and review architecture frameworks to align solutions with strategic objectives. Design and implement scalable, compliant, and secure technical solutions. Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements. Develop cloud operation frameworks and system monitoring tools. Collaborate with software teams and product managers to support deployments and system health. Identify risks and enforce architectural standards and mitigation strategies. Communicate technical solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership. Remain informed on digital health trends and advancements to inform strategy. The IT division (ITD) is one of the divisions that report to the Operational Excellence portfolio.
