About the job As a Sr Cloud Technical Lead for the SAS Cloud team in SAS’s Cloud and Information Services (CIS) division, you will support the transition of projects or workstreams from the Innovation & Architecture pillars into operations as well as partner with the Innovation and Architecture teams to ensure that their output is consumable and supportable by the application and infrastructure teams. In addition, you will enforce operation standards and drive innovation around operational tasks to increase service quality and reduce toil. You will work collaboratively and consult with customers, analysts, developers, and implementation team members to identify best practices and achieve desired results.
In addition, you will support the team with training, expertise, mentoring, and best practices related to enterprise application technology, architecture, and support. You will work with global R D, Product, Technical Support, global PSD/Partners, and CIS teams to drive customer satisfaction and ensure service quality across your assigned customer environments.
As a Sr Cloud Technical Lead, you will: Serves as a point of contact to assigned customers for the engineering team and serve as a technical escalation support for other team members.
Deliver excellent customer service using a customer first and continuous improvement mindset.
Assist in the creation and review of standards documentation as provided by customer or cross-functional team
Assist in the definition the design documentation requirements for a solution
Assist in the implementation and execution proof of concept testing for a proposed solution
As required, assist in the creation of design documentation for solution implementation for other team members.
Document work in SAS Cloud ticketing systems using CIS best practices for ticket update quality and frequency.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of service documentation including runbooks, knowledge base articles, and wiki content.
Additional responsibilities may include:
Up to 10% travel may be required.
Contribute to overall service quality by identifying or leading efforts that reduce time, reduce toil, and/or improve the customer experience within the assigned project.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field, such as Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
Participate in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation.
8+ years of technical experience including:
3+ years of experience with Kubernetes / CaaS
3+ years of experience Enterprise Platform Support
2+ years of experience in systems support, user support, customer support, consulting, or training for enterprise class software and/or hardware.
2+ years of experience with UNIX or Linux supporting enterprise class applications.
2+ years of experience with OpenShift

Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of platform administration experience with Viya 4
1+ years of platform administration experience with SAS 9.4 M6 or

SAS9.4 M8

Familiarity with cloud-based platforms like MS Azure, AWS, GCP, or OpenShift
Familiarity with MobaXterm and WinSCP
Experience with deploying and administering Kubernetes and containerized applications
Experience with Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Bitbucket, or Git
Experience with scripting and automation like Bash or Powershell
Installing and using SAS software and solutions
Programming in SAS
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
