Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join our team in Concord, New Hampshire. This long-term contract position will focus on managing critical IT infrastructure, including virtualization, networking, and storage systems, to ensure seamless operations and business continuity. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a commitment to precision and reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and optimize VMware environments to support organizational needs.
- Configure and manage network devices, including switches, routers, and firewalls, with a focus on accuracy and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system and network issues to minimize downtime.
- Perform system upgrades, hardware maintenance, and document all changes to infrastructure.
- Support Help Desk escalations and provide user training on IT systems as needed.
- Collaborate with vendors and external consultants for system installations and advanced troubleshooting.
- Conduct routine system maintenance and testing to ensure performance and data integrity.
- Participate in after-hours support for critical updates or system outages. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT infrastructure roles.
- Proven expertise in VMware administration and virtualization.
- Strong knowledge of network configuration and firewall management.
- Hands-on experience with storage systems and backup solutions.
- Advanced certifications such as VMware or Cisco are highly desirable.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with a focus on minimizing operational risks.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors.
