- Procurement Specialist/Engineer
- to join our National Airspace System (NAS) Enterprise Services Infrastructure Team that supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Egg Harbor Township, NJ for this
- on-site
- position.
The NAS Enterprise Services Infrastructure supports numerous virtual machine platforms that host multiple internal software systems. This is an exciting opportunity for a specialist with NAS experience to support commercial off the shelf procurement and system maintenance. We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled individual to work independently, with minimal supervision, and in a team environment.
This individual requires:
+ Perform assignment on a broad range of tasks associated with the implementation of standards techniques, procedures, and criteria as they apply to technical tasks. + Develop new technology, modify the structure of existing products, and provide technical guidance to complex projects. + Knowledgeable of both state-of-the-art and aging technologies that comprise the FAA’s NAS and the products from emerging NAS modernization programs. + Interfaces with specialists from other backgrounds such as hardware, software, logistic support, and testing to produce fully integrated and responsive components and systems. + Experience in project management may be required.
- Citizenship/Permanent Residency Requirement
- All candidates must have the following to pass the Federal Background Investigation and obtain the FAA Public Trust security clearance. + Be a US Citizen, have a US Green Card, or a Non-immigrant Work Authorization (VISA). + Has resided in the US for three (3) consecutive years. + The company is unable to sponsor candidates at this time.
- Relocation Requirement
- Candidate must reside or be willing to relocate within a commutable distance to Egg Harbor Township, NJ.
- Education Requirement
- All•NON-US Degrees must have a US Equivalency Certificate provided by the candidate.
- + High School Diploma or GED with
- twenty-five (25) years of related work experience, including fifteen (15) years of NAS experience. OR
- + Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or Math, or a Bachelor’s degree in another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and twenty-three (23) years of related work experiencein a computer science or math field.
- OR•+ Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Math, or a Bachelor’s degree in another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and twenty-one (21) years of related work experiencein a computer science or math field.
- Required Skills
- + Experience in: + Managing software and hardware lifecycle procurement tasks including requirement determination, quote, and procurement management.
+ Management of multiple projects, initiatives and tasks supporting a FAA Second Level Maintenance organization. + NAS procedures, such as writing support documentation: SSD, SFR, SSM, STR, and TI. + Ability to: + Manage Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) resource planning activities. + Multi-task, meeting tight deadlines for numerous systems.
- Preferred Skills
- + Experience in: + Test planning, software system release planning, and problem trouble report lifecycles. + Mission Support documentation. + NAS testing practices. + Windows, VMWare, Linux/Unix environments. + FAA Configuration Management.
- Essential Job Duties
- + Provide 2nd Level Engineering support. + Multi-task the following: + Procurement of software/hardware following FAA procedures and standards. + Management of annual re-occurring maintenance and support licenses. + Technical writing. + System/SSD peer testing. + Work with stakeholders. + Record keeping for all products.

+ Occasional non-standard work hours and travel may be requested. + Cubicle environment. The base pay offered may vary from the posted range depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
