The IDCS Systems Engineer will analyze, configure, deploy, andvalidate hardware devices within the customer defined architecture.

The IDCS Systems Engineer will be part of a team of engineers whowill install firmware, hardware and run testing for validationwhile making necessary changes to the rack system if necessary. TheIDCS Systems Engineer will support a deployment network and allunderlying systems related to Integration Services workloads. TheIDCS Systems Engineer will report to the Lead IDCS SystemsEngineer. This position is required to report to the SHI PiscatawayNJ office location as determined by SHI management. ResponsibilitiesInclude but not limited to:
  • Install, configure, validate, andtroubleshoot data center hardware, software, and systems
  • Maintaininternal infrastructure, network, and automation environment bydebugging and troubleshooting connectivity issues
  • Write andmaintain custom scripts to automate tasks including configurationand hardware verification in order to increase efficiency andremove human error
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshootand help improve the design of automation, information, andoperational support systems
  • Quickly and efficiently respond toerror messages received and identify and troubleshoot the hardwareand/or software issues
  • Collaborate with internal ProjectManagement and Quality Control teams in order to determineintegration requirements, expectations, and timelines
  • Collaboratewith team to streamline builds and create a fluid environment sothat each team member can pick up the project where another hasleft off
  • Recognize build problems and escalate issues to theSystems Engineer Lead
  • Must be reliable and dependable and seetasks through to completion Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree intechnology related discipline or relevant work experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in installing, configuringand troubleshooting servers, switches, routers, firewalls, andother datacenter appliances.
  • Minimum 2 years of workingexperience in installing, configuring and troubleshootingUNIX/Linux/Windows Server/ESXi environments
  • Minimum 2 years ofinfrastructure and network monitoring/management system
  • Minimum 2years of experience working with large scale IT projects related todeployment and configuration.
  • Experience with scripting (e.g.,Python, shell scripts, Perl)
  • Minimum 1 years of experienceleading technical projects
  • Minimum 1 years of customer facingexperience
  • Minimum 1 years of experience troubleshooting advancedhardware and software issues Required Skills
  • Motivated,disciplined, and able to produce quality results under pressure.
  • Networking skills, OSI network layers, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Routing
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills and ability tolearn new technologies.
  • Ability to work individually without muchdirection while also working as part of a team
  • Ability torecognize knowledge gaps and consult others instead of movingforward without expertise.
  • Ability to multitask while retainingstrong attention to detail and produce quality results
  • Excellentcommunication skills (verbal & written) and ability to articulateideas succinctly.
  • Scripting skills (e.g., Python, shell scripts)
  • Ability to obtain certifications as needed
  • Share knowledge withother team members and hand off tasks to techs when necessary
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
  • Experience with infrastructureautomation tools (xCAT, Ansible, Cobbler, Chef, etc.)
  • Experienceworking with RESTful APIs.
  • Experience and capable operating inCLI-based environments.
  • Experience with modern data centertechnologies and concepts.
  • Certifications in technology relateddisciplines such as Networking (CCNA, CCNP) or ServerInfrastructure (MCSE) is desired but not mandatory. UniqueRequirements
  • Extended hours are required to complete some specialprojects
  • Position requires the ability to move or lift up to50lbs Additional Information
  • The estimated annual pay range forthis position is $80,000 – $130,000 which includes a base salaryand bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent onjob-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and,therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits mayinclude, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, andflexible spending.
