Director of Internal IT & Security Position Overview :

We are seeking an experienced AWS Manager to lead our cloud infrastructure and operations team. This role will be responsible for managing and optimizing our AWS environment, ensuring high availability, security, performance, and cost-efficiency across all cloud services. The ideal candidate has a strong background in AWS architecture, leadership, and DevOps best practices.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead and manage the AWS cloud team responsible for architecture, deployment, monitoring, and support. Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure. Optimize cloud usage to reduce costs and improve efficiency, using AWS native tools and third-party platforms. Ensure adherence to best practices in security posture, compliance, and governance in the AWS environment. Collaborate with Applications, DevOps, and security teams to support cloud-based application deployments. Drive automation of infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK. Stay current with AWS innovations and advise leadership on new opportunities for cloud adoption. Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for cloud services. Mentor engineers and provide training on AWS technologies and practices. Create documentation, run books, and standard operating procedures.

Requirements :

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and 2+ years in a management or team lead role. Deep expertise with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, CloudWatch, Security Hub, AWS Inspector, and more. Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.). Strong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation. Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, ECS, EKS). Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience in multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments. AWS certification(s) strongly preferred (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, SysOps Administrator). Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g. CloudWatch, CloudTrail, or 3rd party). Familiarity with SQL Database environment Knowledge of compliance standards such as SOC 2, or

ISO 27001.

Prior experience in a fast-paced startup or agile environment.
