Continental Tool Group is expanding into this dynamic market and seeking a Firmware Product Owner/Engineer to join our corporate engineering team. This role presents a unique opportunity to be part of groundbreaking new product development (NPD) at an established company. Initially focused solely on NPD, the position will evolve into a mix of NPD and sustaining as our smart-tool line enters the marketplace. If you’re a firmware expert with Agile experience, eager to drive innovation and collaborate with dispersed teams, this is your chance to be a key player in shaping a cutting-edge product line.
What You’ll Do:
Act as the Agile Product Owner, including: Transforming customer requirements into well-defined backlogs Prioritize and sequence backlog items for maximum value realization Collaborate with dispersed firmware sprint and cross-functional teams to drive development efforts Lead firmware engineering efforts, including: Developing architectural and design documentation Coding in C/C++ for real-time embedded systems Designing and implementing wired and wireless protocols (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB, SPI, etc.) Developing PID motor control strategies Working with MCUs and DSPs Conducting root cause analysis for troubleshooting Designing in a controlled environment, ideally following ISO standards
What You Bring:
2+ years of Agile Product Owner experience, including backlog creation and grooming 5+ years of firmware engineering experience Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation Preferred Experience (Not Required): Designing battery-operated handheld tools Vibe Coding Collaborating with external partners, including overseas
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Software Engineering, or a related field, from an accredited 4-year university More about
