As a Senior Software Engineer, youwill help lead the development of Komodo Health’s platform-enabledworkflow tools. The Komodo platform powers all of Komodo’s currentand future workflow analytical applications and enables 3rd partybuilders to integrate with, extend, customize, or build on theplatform. Reporting directly to the Engineering Director, you willbe solving complex data challenges while designing and implementingdata processing and transformation at a scale that powersstate-of-the-art interactive product experiences. You will enablesmarter, more innovative uses of healthcare data by building robustdata pipelines and implementing data best practices. This positionhas potential to become engineering manager. Looking back on yourfirst 12 months at Komodo Health, you will have… Expanded orenhanced the Platform data integration APIs Designed and optimizedcaching strategies (including, perhaps, inclusion of new datastorage mediums/platforms) for processing cohort outputs andrunning analytics Recommended and implemented additionalpre-calculation and caching strategies as needed to ensure thatSLAs are met Promoted API versioning best practices and open APIstandards in development Leveraged relevant AWS services (APIgateway, lambdas, among others), updating as needed to takeadvantage of new beneficial features in support of the APIPartnered with product managers to understand the variety ofinternal and external analytic specification needs across a diverseset of use cases You will accomplish these outcomes through thefollowing responsibilities… Partnering with Engineering teammembers, Product Managers, and customer-facing teams to understandcomplex health data use cases and business logic Being curiousabout our data Building foundational pieces of our data platformarchitecture, pipelines, analytics, and services underlying ourplatform Designing and developing reliable data pipelines thattransform data at scale, orchestrated jobs via Airflow/Temporal,using SQL and Python in Snowflake Contributing to python packagesin Github and APIs, using current best practices Ensurenon-functional requirements are met, such as around developerexperience and maintainability Managed technical dependenciesbetween different microservices to ensure smooth operations Set ahigh technical standard overall and be a mentoring resource forothers on the team and in the larger organization What you bring toKomodo Health (required): Minimum of 7-8 years of experienceExpertise with building scalable backend services using modernframeworks such as FastAPI. Expertise with processes and toolingsin the entire software development life cycle in an agileenvironment, including design, implementation, testing, deployment,and monitoring&alerting. Solid computer science skills andproficiency in Python programming language. Able to leverageindustry standard design patterns and engineering best practices.

Demonstrated track-record of delivering products and features withvarying degrees of complexity, and through several iterations ofproduct development. Capable of quickly building expertise on anas-need basis on a new tech stack. Experience with systems leveldesign, including support and operations. Understand and design fornon-functional concerns such as performance, cost optimization,maintainability and developer experience. Relevant experience withcloud infrastructure technologies such as AWS. Mentor and/or trainother engineers in relevant skills and/or technologies Knowledge ofanalytics, familiarity with a variety of numericalmethods/algorithms and basic level understanding of ML algorithms.
