We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Platform Engineering Manager to lead our dynamic platform engineering team. In this role, you will be the champion of developer experience, ensuring our engineering department has the tools, infrastructure, and support they need to build and deploy software efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of talented engineers. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for continuous improvement, all with a strong focus on empowering others to easily accomplish their tasks. Responsibilities Team Leadership & Talent Development Lead and manage the platform engineering team, including hiring, mentoring, performance management and career development Foster a developer-centric culture that emphasizes enablement, empathy and collaboration Infrastructure Design & Operations Design, build, and maintain the infrastructure that powers XOi’s platform Ensure high availability, scalability and security of core systems to support seamless software delivery Developer Productivity & Enablement Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and automation tools to streamline developer workflows Monitor and troubleshoot efficiency issues, proactively implementing solutions to minimize disruptions Prioritize initiatives and tooling that enhance developer experience and reduce cognitive or operational overhead Collaboration & Cross Functional Partnership Work closely with engineering teams to ensure smooth integration, deployment and rapid feedback loops Communicate clearly during incident response, with a focus on resolution speed and transparency to engineering teams Innovation & Technical Leadership Stay current on modern platform engineering practices, tools and trends Evaluate and champion new technologies that improve infrastructure reliability or developer satisfaction Platform Strategy & Roadmap Execution Contribute to the platform engineering roadmap and long-term strategy Align technical priorities with organizational goals and developer needs to maximize impact Qualifications Proven experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or a similar role, with a strong understanding of developer workflows. Strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) in the context of developer tooling. Experience with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) to automate and simplify developer environments. Proficiency in languages (e.g., Python, Go, Bash) and automation tools to enhance developer productivity. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and related tools (e.g., Github Actions, GitLab CI) to enable rapid and reliable deployments. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a focus on collaboration and empathy with developers. Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment, prioritizing developer feedback and iteration. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with an emphasis on resolving issues that impact developer productivity. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing a team of engineers with a focus on developer enablement. Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, especially as they relate to developer environments. Understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements, applied in a way that minimizes friction for developers. Experience with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) to provide insights and feedback to developers.
