The AWS Cross DomainOperations team is seeking a cleared Senior Cloud Engineer tosupport essential cross domain services for U.S. Intelligence andDefense customers. Our team maintains and operates the critical AWSinfrastructure that enables secure cloud capabilities acrossclassified environments. Your expertise will directly impactnational security by ensuring the reliable operation of systemsthat government agencies depend on every day. As a Senior CloudEngineer on our team, you’ll be instrumental in managingoperational excellence for our always-on cross domain systems.
You’ll implement and maintain robust processes that drive ouravailability metrics up and our latency metrics down. We need youroperational expertise to ensure our infrastructure is ready toscale for future demands, and your problem-solving skills tostreamline processes and improve our response times. - Lead operational excellenceinitiatives for mission-critical systems, focusing on availability,resiliency, and security
- Diagnose and resolve complex systemissues across the full technology stack in high-pressure situations
- Drive continuous improvement of operational processes, includingautomation of manual tasks and implementation of scaling solutions
- Conduct thorough post-incident analysis and implement preventivemeasures to avoid issue recurrence
- Partner with development teamsto influence system design and architecture decisions that impactoperational stability
- Perform technical deep-dives into servicedesign, operating systems, networking, storage, monitoring, andcapacity planning
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to improvesystem reliability and operational efficiency
- Mentor team memberson operational best practices and resilience engineering principlesYou will operate with significant autonomy, making criticaldecisions that affect system reliability and performance.

A day in the life Your typical day begins with yourteam’s daily stand-up, where you and your colleagues reviewoperational priorities and ensure critical tasks are on track tomeet SLAs. As a senior member of the team, you’ll often providetechnical guidance to help unblock issues or suggest more efficientapproaches to problems. BASICQUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s degree or above, or Cloud or GICSP(Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional) or GSEC (GIACSecurity Essentials) or SSCP (Systems Security CertifiedPractitioner)
- 5 years of Linux systems administration experience
- 5 years of experience working with scripting language
- Experience as a technical lead for a team of engineers
- Current,active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 10 years of Linux systems administrationexperience with experience automating routine and complex tasks
- 5years experience with cloud computing technologies preferably withcross domain solutions
- 5 years of experience with supportprocedures and methodologies for production computing environments
- Understanding of design for scalability, performance, andreliability
