We are seeking a highly motivated Cybersecurity Analyst to support our Modeling and Simulation (MandS) software development teams. You will collaborate with a diverse team of software engineers, data scientists, and analysts to secure and maintain compliance across complex development environments.
As part of the platform team, you will lead and support vulnerability assessments, security compliance efforts, and the integration of cybersecurity best practices. This role requires strong communication and coordination skills, as you will work closely with internal development teams, partners, and subcontractors to ensure consistent adherence to DoD cybersecurity requirements.
Job Responsibilities include:
Conduct security evaluations of physical and virtual systems, including containerized environments, by applying DISA STIGs and other applicable frameworksDevelop and maintain Plan of Action and Milestones (POAandM) documentation and drive remediation across internal and partner organizationsPerform ongoing vulnerability assessments, identifying end-of-life software risks, patch management gaps, and configuration issuesCompile vulnerability and compliance reports aligned with release cyclesMonitor system changes for newly introduced vulnerabilities and assess security impactReview and recommend policy updates to align with evolving DoD cybersecurity standards and best practices
Required Skill and Experience:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related technical fieldMinimum 3 years of experience conducting STIG assessments and vulnerability remediation in a DoD environmentHands-on experience with
DISA SCAP
tools, STIG/SRG compliance, and CVE analysisProficiency with
RMF, NIST SP 800
series, and other DoD cybersecurity policies and guidanceStrong analytical skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively in team-oriented environmentsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced, mission-driven settingActive Secret clearance required; ability to obtain
Top Secret/SCIDesired Qualifications:
DoD 8570 IAM Level I, II, or III certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP)Experience with automated security verification tools and proceduresFamiliarity with Linux command-line interfaces, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (e.g., Docker), and KubernetesExperience with security scanning tools such as ACAS, Nessus, or OpenSCAPFamiliarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) security implicationsUnderstanding of container security best practices (e.g., image signing, runtime security)Experience using SBOM (Software Bill of Materials) tools for software supply chain transparency (e.g., Syft, Grype)Ability to assess risk areas and recommend practical remediation strategiesExperience supporting Assessment and Authorization activities and Continuous Authorization to Operate within RMF and DevSecOps frameworks
