Job Description
Manager Physical Security Systems | Security Systems | Days | Full Time Gainesville, Florida Professional-NonClinical 51364 Manages the Security Systems Department and all related security systems, including video management, access control, infant abduction prevention, handheld security radio system, security report documentation, computer aided dispatching, etc. for all UF Health Shands properties and customers. Assimilates customer requirements, utilizes standard information systems methodologies, and designs solutions to meet the business needs of various projects. Provides consultative needs assessments for security software and hardware platforms, including cost estimates. Maintains working knowledge of all IT systems that the security systems may integrate with and assists other departments when projects affect security systems. Works with outside vendors and maintains contracts related to security systems. Assists with policy development related to the security systems and provides training for end users on these systems. Develops long term replacement plans and provides assistance in creating a security vision as technology platforms move into the future. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
B.A/B.S. degree in a related field and four years’ experience in information technology or an Associate’s Degree with minimum of six years of experience in information technology. Additional experience in information technology in a management position may substitute for education requirements on a yearly equivalency. Experience preferred in the Healthcare setting. Knowledge of TJC Standards and local, state and federal laws related to Security; strong organization and communication (verbal and writing) skills.
Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:
Employees in this position: Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a ‘non-frequent driver’
NOTE:
A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or University of Florida Health automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.
