Our work depends on the Cyber Security Analyst joining our team to provide cyber technical support for Cyber Operations Security Operations Center (CSOC). Support will consist of configuring, tuning, optimizing, and maintaining critical security infrastructure to safeguard the organization’s digital assets against evolving cyber threats.
HOW A CYBER SECURITY ANALYST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Performs forensic analysis of digital information and gathers and handles evidence. Identifies network computer intrusion evidence and perpetrators
Investigates, analyzes, and responds to cyber incidents within a network environment or enclave
Uses data collected from a variety of cyber defense tools (e.g., IDS alerts, firewalls, network traffic logs) to analyze events that occur within their environments for the purpose of mitigating threats
Interprets, analyzes, and reports all events and anomalies in accordance with computer network directives, including initiating, responding, and reporting discovered events
Evaluates, tests, recommends, coordinates, monitors, and maintains cybersecurity policies, procedures, and systems, including access management for hardware, firmware, and software
Ensures that cybersecurity plans, controls, processes, standards, policies, and procedures are aligned with cybersecurity standards
Identifies security risks and exposures, determines the causes of security violations and suggests procedures to halt future incidents and improve security
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Required Experience:
1+ years of related experience
Required Technical Skills:
Applicable DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 Certification
Required Skills and Abilities:
Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat landscapes, and best practices for configuring and tuning security tools.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and optimize system performance.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
Experience with USCENTCOM and familiarity with its mission
Knowledge and familiarity with USCENTCOM’s IT environment
