Job Description
Microsoft Purview Data Governance
Implement and manage data cataloging, data classification, and data lineage capabilities across structured and unstructured datasets.
Configure and run scanning rules for on-premises and cloud-based environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, M365).
Enable data discovery and business glossary to support data stewardship and compliance initiatives.
Microsoft Purview Information Protection
Design and apply sensitivity labels and auto-labeling policies across Microsoft 365 workloads. Implement data encryption policies and protection mechanisms based on classification. Collaborate with stakeholders to align labeling and protection schemes with business needs and regulatory requirements.
Purview Integration with DLP, MIP, and CASB Develop DLP policies to detect and prevent exfiltration of sensitive data across cloud and endpoint environments. Use Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) to ensure persistent data protection through classification, labeling, and access control.
Collaborate with security teams to configure Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps (CASB) for monitoring and managing cloud data access.
Integrate Purview with Microsoft Compliance Center tools for auditing, insider risk management, and regulatory reporting. Support access governance efforts to monitor and manage sensitive data permissions and access rights.
Provide regular assessments and reporting for compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001).
Qualifications
:
3+ years of experience working with Microsoft Purview or Microsoft 365 compliance/security stack.
Proven expertise in data classification, protection, and governance using Microsoft tools. Strong understanding of DLP, MIP, and CASB concepts and their implementation. Experience in hybrid and multi-cloud environments is a strong advantage.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with PowerShell or KQL for policy automation and reporting. Strong communication and documentation skills to support training and stakeholder engagement.
