POSITION SUMMARY A

Network Director is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of an organization’s computer networks. This leadership position involves strategic planning, resource management, and ensuring the network’s reliability and security. The Network Director works closely with other departments to align the network infrastructure with the company’s goals and objectives, making it a critical role in the overall IT strategy. They must possess a deep understanding of networking technologies, strong project management skills, and the ability to lead a team of IT professionals effectively.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and implement network strategies to meet organizational goals. Oversee the design and maintenance of network infrastructure. Ensure network security and data protection measures are in place. Manage a team of network engineers and IT professionals. Collaborate with other departments to align network initiatives with business objectives. Monitor and optimize network performance to ensure high availability and reliability. Establish and enforce network policies and procedures. Coordinate with vendors and service providers for network-related services. Conduct regular network audits and assessments. Plan and execute network upgrades and migrations. Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Stay updated on the latest networking technologies and industry trends. Manage the network budget and allocate resources efficiently. Provide technical guidance and support to network staff. Handle network-related incidents and troubleshoot issues. Prepare reports and documentation on network performance and activities.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 5-10 years of experience in network administration or engineering. Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent. Extensive experience in network design and implementation. Experience with cloud networking and virtualized environments.
