Job Description

Systems Administrator Lenel OnGuard
Key West, FL
SMX is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lenel OnGuard Systems Administrator to join our team in support of our government customer in Key West, FL. As the subject matter expert, you will be responsible for the complete lifecycle management of their Lenel OnGuard system and its integration with Milestone video management software. Your primary focus will be on the software and server-side administration of the system, ensuring seamless integration of new hardware installations performed by the ESS team.
This position requires a DoD secret security clearance which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

System Administration:

Serve as the primary administrator for the Lenel OnGuard system and supporting databases
Perform system updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure optimal performance and security
Manage user accounts, access levels, and permissions
Conduct regular system backups and disaster recovery planning

Hardware Integration & Support:

Integrate new security hardware devices and systems installed by the ESS team with the Lenel OnGuard platform
Configure and test new hardware additions to ensure proper functionality within the Lenel system
Provide remote on-site technical support to Electronic Security System (ESS) technicians during hardware installations
Communicate with third-party installers and service technicians, as needed, to ensure the government customer understands service level commitments and system compatibility assurance

Maintenance & Optimization:

Develop and execute a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan for the Lenel OnGuard system software and server
Proactively monitor system health, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions Collaborate with the ESS team, networking team, server deployment team, and IA team to ensure the overall health and security of the Lenel system and associated SCADA systems
Optimize system performance and efficiency through ongoing tuning and configuration, working closely with the ESS team, networking team, server deployment team, and IA team to maximize system uptime and responsiveness

Reporting & Analysis:

Generate customized reports for the customer on system usage, access logs, and security events
Analyze system error logs, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions
Stay abreast of emerging security threats and vulnerabilities related to Lenel OnGuard systems

Collaboration & Support:

Work on-site with our government customer as the sole Lenel OnGuard and Milestone SME
Provide technical guidance and support to the customer team on system functionality and best practices
Required Skills & Experience

Required Clearance:

Secret
Current Lenel OnGuard certification
Proven experience (5+ years) managing and maintaining Lenel OnGuard systems in a complex environment, specifically focusing on software and server administration
Strong understanding of networking principles and technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls)
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desired Skills/Experience
Milestone VMS certification
Experience with database management systems (SQL Server)
Experience working in a government or military environment
Experience with the physical installation and troubleshooting of physical security systems, specifically Lenel OnGuard
CompTIA Security + certification or higher
TS/SCI clearance preferred
