- We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to secure and harden a developing military Modeling and Simulation (M&S) system of systems.
This role involves assessing, implementing, and managing cybersecurity policies and technologies across simulation platforms used for training, analysis, and mission rehearsal. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of DoD cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, and secure system design. + Design and implement cybersecurity architectures for cloud-based and on-premise M&S environments. + Lead Risk Management Framework (RMF) efforts, including the development of ATO packages. + Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on M&S systems. + Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation in compliance with DoD standards (e.g., NIST SP 800-53, STIGs). + Implement security tools including SIEM, endpoint protection, and network intrusion detection. + Collaborate with system engineers, software developers, and cloud engineers to embed cybersecurity best practices throughout the system lifecycle. + Monitor and respond to security incidents within simulation environments. + Ensure secure integration of modeling tools and simulation federations (e.g., HLA, DIS) with DoD networks. + Provide cybersecurity input for technical proposals, design reviews, and configuration management processes. + Mentor junior cybersecurity personnel and contribute to strategic security planning.
- Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- + Bachelor s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
+ At least 6 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role. + Proficiency with
RMF, ATO
processes, and DoD cybersecurity compliance. + Hands-on experience with security tools (e.g., ACAS, Nessus, Splunk, Tenable, Wireshark). + Familiarity with simulation and modeling systems in military contexts. + Understanding of secure software development practices and DevSecOps. + Experience with cloud security in AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or other DoD-approved environments.

Certifications:
CISSP, CISM, CEH, Security , or equivalent. Experience with DISA STIGs and SRGs implementation and validation. Knowledge of cybersecurity implications in federated simulation environments. Familiarity with secure architecture design for hybrid cloud/on-prem systems. Master’s degree

Full-Time Salary Range:
$118504 – $201457 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
