The Director, Enterprise Data Architecture will leadthe creation and operation of the Enterprise Data ArchitectureProgram for Brown & Brown. This director will be responsible fordefining and evolving the overall strategy, architecture androadmap for the enterprise Modern Data Platform. This experiencedindividual will lead a matrixed team in the definition ofassociated policies, standards, procedures and patterns for datasolutions across Brown & Brown.

General Responsibilities:

Develop and evolve the Modern Data Platform strategy,architecture and roadmap. Define and measure the data capabilities required to supportthe business, technology and data strategies. Partner with the CDO, Enterprise Data Enablement and EnterpriseData Platform teams to develop and implement the Enterprise DataStrategy. Lead the development of business cases for Modern Data Platformroadmap deliverables. Develop and maintain policies, standards, procedures andpatterns for data solutions. Continually evaluate new and existing data capabilities andtechnologies. Define and execute processes required to ensure compliance withdata policies, standards, procedures and patterns. Mentor and provide guidance to Data Solution Architects anddivision Data Architects and Data Engineers. Work well with co-located and distributed team members andpartners. Demonstrate a high degree of creativity and problem-solvingskills. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field orequivalent work experience. Experience defining architectural patterns, solutions andcontrols for data pipelines, data integration, data transformation,analytics, reporting and modeling (e.g., AI/ML). Strong understanding of architecting and delivering solutionsin a cloud environment. Deep understanding of data modeling, data management and datagovernance principles. Passion for learning new technologies and enhancing existingskills. Experience in end-to-end Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)projects. Experience working with key stakeholders and businessleaders. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to build strong relationships and work collaborativelyon teams. Self-starter that works well and is able to be a leader in amatrixed team environment. Ability to adapt and respond in a rapidly evolving businessenvironment. 8+ years of related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience architecting cloud-based Modern Data Platforms. Experience architecting data solutions in an Azure cloudenvironment. Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics,Azure Databricks, Snowflake and/or equivalent cloud datatechnologies and platforms. Experience defining patterns and solutions leveraging Data as aProduct, Data as a Service, Data Mesh, Data Virtualization, DeltaLake, Lakehouse and/or Data Fabric. Familiarity with SQL, Java and Python. Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies. Experience leading matrixed teams to architect and designplatforms and solutions. 12+ years of related work experience and 5+ years ofprogressive leadership experience. Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Data EngineerAssociate or equivalent certification(s). Experience in the insurance industry and/or basic knowledge ofinsurance. Experience architecting solutions covering multiplegeographies.
