The Senior Engineer plays a key role in securing industrialcontrol systems for the Georgia electric grid and is GSOC’sphysical security subject matter expert. To perform this essentialfunction, the Senior Engineer must demonstrate a high degree oftechnical and analytical capability, as well as an ability to learnand adapt to quickly changing technologies, procedures, andcompliance requirements. You will be responsible for providingphysical security engineering support for electric utility criticalinfrastructure. Expert-level experience with badging systems,credential management, video surveillance systems, intrusiondetection systems, and physical protection of critical systems arekey to success in this role.

Job Duties:
Design, Implement, andManage Physical Security Systems :

Develop, deploy, and maintainenterprise-grade physical security systems, including accesscontrol, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and alarmsystems, ensuring they meet the operational and compliance needs ofour critical infrastructure facilities across the state of Georgia.

Includes configuring and optimizing hardware and softwarecomponents, troubleshooting complex issues, coordinating systemupgrades, hardware refreshes, and implementing scalable solutionsto address the evolving security needs of the organization. DriveInnovation in

Lead efforts to research,evaluate, and implement advanced security solutions and emergingtechnologies to strengthen the organization’s physical securityposture and digital operations infrastructure.

Conduct RiskAssessments :

Perform comprehensive security evaluations toidentify vulnerabilities, propose mitigation strategies, andimplement enhancements that address current and future threats.

Provide Technical Leadership and Mentorship :

Offer technicalexpertise, guidance, and mentorship to other security engineers andtechnicians, fostering professional development and ensuring highperformance within the team.

Ensure Regulatory Compliance :

Collaborate with internal and external compliance and audit teamsto ensure adherence to regulatory standards, including NERC CIPrequirements. Develop and implement policies, processes, andprocedures to support compliance efforts.

Vendor and ContractorManagement :

Partner with third-party vendors and contractors toprocure, deploy, and maintain equipment and services related tophysical security systems, ensuring adherence to organizationalstandards and project timelines.

Collaborate Across Teams :

Workclosely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and IT teams toensure effective physical security systems to protect industrialcontrol systems (ICS) and IT infrastructure.

RequiredQualifications:
Education :

Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security,Computer Science or Engineering, Information Systems/Technology, ora related field.

Experience :

Minimum of 6 years of experience ininformation security, preferably with a focus on physical securityIn-depth understanding of physical security monitoring systems,including Video Management Systems, IP cameras, video recordingdevices, door locks and alarm systems Strong technical knowledge ofinformation security architecture, protocols, and best practicesFamiliarity with network and system hardening techniques Experiencein asset and change management principles and practices Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills, including the ability toclearly explain technical issues to both technical andnon-technical stakeholders Proven ability to lead and mentor lessexperienced engineers and technicians Experience working inregulated environments such as NERC CIP or others is highly desired

Equivalent Experience:

Associates degree in related field with 10years of experience in any of the following areas: informationtechnology, cyber security, engineering, or information security.or High school diploma with 12 years of experience in any of thefollowing areas: information technology, cyber security,engineering, or information security.

Licenses, Certifications,and/or Registrations:

Certifications in Cyber Security orInformation Systems are a plus.

Specialized Skills:

Requires strongtechnical skills and understanding of various security eventsacross multiple operating system and appliance platforms. Abilityto learn and adapt quickly to changes in technologies, processes,and compliance standards. Strong customer service attitude. Stronganalytical skills. Ability to document resolutions to customerissues and security alerts. Capability to provide leadership overimplementation of processes. Resolve issues amongst a diverse groupof stakeholders. Must be able to pass a

NERC CIP

personnel riskassessment screening.

Unusual Hours:

Occasionalevening and weekend work may be required, to support operations andsecurity event response. Supports customers, incident responseprocesses, and systems after hours, as needed. On-site support forsystem installs, upgrades, assessments as required by CIPcompliance activities.
