Senior Cloud Security Engineer
Charlotte, North Carolina, United States

Job Overview:

AvidXchange is a dynamic and innovative technology-driven B2B paymentsanization seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Application Security Engineer to join our team. Ourpany values collaboration, creativity, and excellence in delivering cutting-edge solutions to our customers. As an Application Engineer embedded within our Agile development teams, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of our applications, systems, and data. While working closely with cross-functional Agile teams, you will report directly to the Information Security Application Security Team to act as a liaison and subject matter expert aligning efforts across the broader security strategy.
What you’ll do:
Design, evaluate, and implement security controls within thepany’s cloud infrastructure to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information.
Review architectures, develop standards, and participate in design sessions for cloud products and cloud infrastructure services.
Conduct vulnerability assessments, manage cloud security risks, and develop cloud security metrics.
Cross-functionally collaborate with technology teams to identify and remediate security issues.
Provide guidance on security strategies, designs, processes, and technologies within individual cloud environments and for inter-cloud integration.
Participate in incident response and disaster recovery planning and testing.
Provide guidance to product and technology teams on cloud security best practices.
What we’re looking for:
Progressive, practical information security experience with focus on cloud platforms, container orchestration, automation, product design and operation.
5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud security, networking, and system administration.
Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container security.
Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools, serverless architectures.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
Experience with cloud-native security tools such as AWS GuardDuty, Azure Security Center.
Strong technical aptitude, genuine “ambassador and practitioner” interest in cybersecurity and technology, problem solver attitude.
Experience working with SaaS solutions and software development, preferably in a regulated B2B environment.
Ability to think critically and addressplex security challenges.
Excellent verbal and writtenmunication skills to conveyplex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work well within a team and across departments to achievemon security goals.
Flexibility to adapt to evolving security threats and changing project requirements.
Capability to lead and mentor junior team members and peers.
Self-motivated and proactive mindset in identifying potential security risks and implementing preventive measures.
Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
