This role is designed to provide a pathway intocybersecurity engineering. It offers hands-on experience with oursecurity architecture and engineering teams, along withopportunities for professional development and mentoring to helpyou transition your skills from analysis to engineering.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Threat Detection & Incident Response Monitor and analyze security alerts from various systems andrespond to potential incidents. Conduct in-depth analysis on cybersecurity events to identify thescope, severity, and mitigation actions. Act as a key player in incident response, including escalation,containment, eradication, and recovery. Vulnerability Assessment ℜmediation Perform regular vulnerability assessments and participate inremediation planning with relevant teams. Partner with engineering teams to support patch management,vulnerability mitigation, and secure configuration efforts. Security Control Monitoring & Optimization Monitor, maintain, and optimize security technologies (e.g.,firewalls, SIEM, IPS/IDS, endpoint protection, etc.). Collaborate with engineering teams to design and enhance monitoringand alerting capabilities. Assist in developing automation for security operations, enhancingefficiency and consistency across workflows. Collaboration on Security Architecture Work with cybersecurity engineering to contribute to securitydesign and architecture, supporting projects that enhance oursecurity posture. Participate in planning for new security tools, processes, andframeworks. Cybersecurity Awareness & Training Contribute to developing and delivering cybersecurity training andawareness initiatives for the organization. Act as a mentor and resource for junior analysts, sharing insights,best practices, and knowledge. Documentation & Reporting Create detailed reports on incident investigations, assessments,and security metrics for management review. Document processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures(SOPs) to support scalable operations.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
4+ years of experience in cybersecurity, particularly in a SOC orincident response capacity. Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology,Computer Science, or related field. Relevant certifications may beconsidered in place of a degree. Relevant certifications preferred, such as CompTIA Security+, CEH,GCIH, GCIA, or similar. Interest in working toward CISSP, OSCP, orother advanced certifications is a plus. Hands-on experience with cybersecurity tools, such as SIEM, EDR,firewall and network security monitoring, and vulnerabilityscanners. Experience in scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, etc.)is highly preferred Strong understanding of network protocols, system security, andattack vectors. Proficiency in log analysis, network traffic analysis, and forensicinvestigation techniques. Familiarity with cloud security, especially in AWS, Azure. Scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, etc.) for automation andprocess improvement. Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO27001, GDPR).
