Summary We are seeking a skilled Security Engineer to join our dynamic team at EIT, Inc. This position is to support the modernization, integration, and security of critical information systems. This position is essential to enhancing the FAA’s cybersecurity posture, ensuring compliance with federal standards, and strengthening infrastructure resilience in support of the National Airspace System (NAS) and agency-wide IT systems. Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain security controls aligned with NIST, ISO, and other industry standards. Conduct risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies for IT systems and networks. Monitor compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Network Security & Engineering Architect and maintain secure network infrastructure, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and segmentation. Analyze and respond to network security events and incidents. Configure, test, and maintain routers, switches, wireless controllers, and load balancers. Systems Integration Ensure seamless integration of systems across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy new technologies with minimal disruption. Automate routine tasks and integration workflows using scripts or orchestration tools. Documentation & Collaboration Develop and maintain detailed documentation of systems architecture, network diagrams, and security protocols. Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and project stakeholders. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience in developing with network security in mind. Strong knowledge of Windows and Unix operating systems and Active Directory management. Familiarity with network architecture principles and best practices. Understanding of cloud computing environments is a plus. Knowledge of federal or industry compliance frameworks (e.g., FISMA, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
