AWS established a specialized group of serviceteams responsible for the work we are doing with the U.S.Intelligence Community. We are building some of the largest andmost complex distributed systems in the world, and we needadaptable people to help us implement and operate them. The AWSRoute 53, Availability, & Perimeter Protection (RAPP) ADC team isseeking highly motivated engineers who are focused on operationalexcellence and troubleshooting complex system operations, have agood understanding of Linux, networking, and general knowledge ofcloud services. On the RAPP P3 team we focus on firewall, recovery,and fault testing services and need engineers who understand how tothink big, and simplify solutions to complex problems; all thewhile ensuring that our customers continue to have the bestexperience possible. You will be able to take a defined project,break down the work to help define milestones, and feedbackmechanisms. You identify when implementations are not highlyavailable or have defects; you investigate systemic patterns. Youresolve, mitigate, or escalate operational concerns in a timelymanner. This position requires that the candidate selected be a USCitizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCIsecurity clearance with polygraph. Position located in AnnapolisJunction, MD 20701. Relocation assistance would be offered (pendingqualification guidelines). Key job responsibilities This rolefocuses on Availability & Perimeter Protection services in isolatedADC regions. Responsibilities include maintaining pipelines toremain within parity with commercial regions, providing 24/7on-call support for our services, providing insight into theair-gapped operations to service owning teams, and building ourservices out into new ADC regions. A day in the life It’s alwaysDay 1 at Amazon. On a typical day, an ADC Engineer manages andmonitors systems in air-gapped regions. This would involve deepdiving anomalies, addressing scaling needs, and using this data toensure our services maintain a 100% uptime SLA! We do all thisthrough existing tools and when required, we build or update toolstypically written in Python or Ruby. The most exciting part of thisrole is working to deploy and build the latest features andsoftware releases for our air-gapped customers. About the team TheUS ADC Route 53, Availability, & Perimeter Protection Team isresponsible for the deployment and support of numerous defensiveand protective services as well as service that enable continuedcustomer operations during infrastructure outages to air gapped AWScloud customers where security and uptime is the highest priority.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

•Associate’sdegree or above, or Cloud or GICSP (Global Industrial CyberSecurity Professional) or GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials) or SSCP(Systems Security Certified Practitioner)•Current, active USGovernment Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS

•Familiarity with Linux system administration andnetworking fundamentals. Familiarity with AWS cloud services.

The basepay for this position ranges from $105,200/year in our lowestgeographic market up to $188,200/year in our highest geographicmarket.
