Knowledge of FIPS 140requirements Knowledge of cryptographic encryption algorithms, keyexchange algorithms, hashing/message authentication algorithms,PKI, random number generators, etc. Experience with variousprogramming languages (C, C++, Python or Java) and developmentenvironments. Ability to comprehend security standard requirementsand apply them to products. Knowledge of common security relatedprotocols and their design (i.e. SSH, IPsec, TLS, etc.). Experiencebuilding testing environments, performing testing and reportingresults (technical writing). CVP Certified Tester Strongproblem-solving skills. Strong multitasking and time management.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Designs, develops or recommends integrated securitysystem and physical control solutions that will ensureproprietary/confidential data and systems are protected. Providestechnical engineering services for the support of integratedsecurity systems and solutions to manage information-related risks.

Participates with the client in the strategic design process totranslate security and business requirements into technicaldesigns. Configures and validates secure systems and physicalcontrols, and tests security products and systems to detectsecurity weakness.

SCOPE:

Receives assignments in the form ofobjectives and establishes goals to meet objectives. Work isreviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules.

Establishes and recommends changes to policies which affectsubordinate organization(s). Provides guidance to others to achievegoals in accordance with established policies.

PROBLEMCOMPLEXITY

Works on complex problems where analysis of situation ordata requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercisesjudgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selectingmethods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

IMPACT:

Contributions are usually limited to assignment relatedactivities. Decisions or failure to achieve results may causesevere adverse business/schedule impact.

LIAISON:

May interact withsenior management on matters concerning several functional areas,divisions, and/or customers. Requires the ability to change thethinking of, or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations.

FREEDOM TO ACT

May be responsible for the technical direction,leadership, and training of less experienced staff. Actsindependently to determine methods and procedures on newassignments.

ANDABILITY

Having complete knowledge of this field and is able tohandle seldom and unusual occurring job events. Ability to completecomplex and difficult assignments. May determine methods andprocedures on new assignments and provide guidance to nonexemptpersonnel. Knowledge of assigned product(s), company functions,service policies and procedures and good communication skills.

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in relatedfield or equivalent and 8 years related experience. TheseQualifications Would be Nice to

Have:

Experience with VHDL andVerilog languages. Experience with debugging (GDB, WinDBG, VisualStudio, etc.). Experience with statistical analysis of entropysources. Knowledge of OpenSSL and/or OpenPGP. VulnerabilityAnalysis and/or penetration testing experience/expertise. Strongknowledge of computer security principles and best practices.

Strong English (both oral and written) skills. Relatedcertifications (CCNA/CCNP/CCIE, JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP/JNCIE). Knowledgeof Active Directory and Linux. Hands on experience using tools suchas an oscilloscope, function generator, multimeter, signalgenerator, etc. Knowledge of X.509 certificates and theirattributes as well as protocols such as CDP and OCSP. Experiencesetting up networks and familiarity with subnets and routing.
