Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced and innovative Sr. IT Auditor to join our team in Spartanburg, South Carolina. This long-term contract position offers an excellent opportunity to lead audits that strengthen IT infrastructure, improve risk management practices, and ensure compliance with industry standards. In this role, you will collaborate with IT and business leaders, oversee audit initiatives, and contribute to the ongoing development of the team.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain the organization’s IT Risk Assessment framework, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Plan and execute comprehensive risk-based IT audits, focusing on areas such as cybersecurity, cloud environments, disaster recovery, and third-party risk management.
  • Manage and mentor audit staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and growth.
  • Produce clear and actionable audit reports that effectively communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and operational requirements by managing internal and external audit processes.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize IT processes and recommend innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and security.
  • Stay updated on emerging IT risks, technologies, and frameworks to adapt audit methodologies proactively.
  • Partner with IT and business leaders to align on priorities and implement improvements based on audit insights. Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Certification such as CISA, CISSP, or equivalent, or a demonstrated commitment to obtaining one.
  • At least 4 years of experience in internal or external IT audit, quality assurance, or related roles, with operational IT exposure being a plus.
  • Proven ability to lead projects, including risk assessment, audit planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of IT control frameworks like
COBIT, ISO

27001/27002, and associated risk areas.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging effectively across all levels of management.
  • Ability to analyze complex risks, identify control gaps, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Advanced certifications or expertise in emerging technologies such as cloud platforms, virtualization, or cybersecurity are a plus.
