About the role SGC is seeking a Data Analyst to support a wide range of operational, analytical, and strategic functions that span disaster preparedness, response, and recovery. We’re looking for an early-to-mid-career professional with strong analytical capabilities, adaptability, and an unshakable commitment to mission-driven work. This is a temporary role tied to general operational support, with a strong preference to transition high-performing candidates into full-time, long-term positions. The ideal candidate is technically sharp, brings strong analytical thinking to complex problems, and is comfortable operating in high-impact, dynamic environments. This position is remote-first but may require travel for deployments based on operational needs. Deployments can extend for multiple months and involve working long hours in dynamic, fast-paced emergency environments. Candidates should be prepared for the possibility of intensive work periods—typically 12-hour days and extended weekly schedules—when supporting field operations. What you’ll do Data Analysis & Reporting Analyze structured and unstructured data from diverse sources (e.g., Salesforce, ArcGIS, Excel) to support decision-making. Create dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that provide actionable insights for internal teams and external partners. Operational Support Collaborate across teams to track key metrics, monitor performance, and provide data-driven guidance for ongoing projects. Contribute to operational planning, scenario modeling, and after-action reviews. Emergency Deployments Support data needs during deployments, including tracking field activity, incident metrics, and client deliverables. Assist in real-time data cleaning, reporting, and coordination during active response missions. Tool & System Integration Work within platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, ArcGIS, Salesforce, MuleSoft, Excel, and SQL databases. Help build or improve automated data workflows and dashboards. Stakeholder Communication Present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Translate complex datasets into usable information for emergency managers, executives, and partners. Growth & Development Support continuous improvement of data tools, methodologies, and documentation. Explore opportunities to grow into client-facing roles, special projects, or technical leadership. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related field—or equivalent experience. 1-5 years of professional experience in data analytics or a related role. Proficient in SQL, Python, R, Excel, Salesforce, and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau). Mulesoft an advantage. Familiarity with ArcGIS or spatial data platforms is a plus. Excellent problem-solving, time management, and communication skills. Able and willing to deploy to emergency response settings when needed. Preferred Skills Experience with Mulesoft an advantage Experience in public sector, disaster response, or emergency management (a plus, not required). Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative in fast-paced settings. Comfortable adapting to new platforms or project types as needed. Additional Requirements Must be at least 18 years old. Must be eligible to work in the United States. Must pass a background check upon offer of employment. Must be willing and able to travel to various work sites as needed. Must be willing and able to work long hours in emergency response environments.
