Role overview & responsibilities Reporting to the VP of IT, the Data Analyst is responsible for turning data into information, information into insight, and insight into business decisions. They conduct full life-cycle activities including performing requirements analysis and design, developing analysis and reporting capabilities, and continuously monitoring performance and quality control plans to identify improvements. Build reports and visualizations for executives and users to run their respective business units using Power BI and application reporting tools. Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports. Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality. Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain data systems. Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets. Filter and clean data, and review computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code issues. Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs. Locate and define new process improvement opportunities. Utilize technical expertise regarding data models, data design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques. Assist with on-going warehouse initiatives leveraging Snowflake and DBT. Support ETL processes from transactional databases to data warehouse. What you’ll need At least 1 year of data analyst experience. Valid driver’s license. Bachelor’s degree (4 -year college or technical school)

Preferred, Field of Study:

Office:

Must be able to travel to the Fort Smith, AR office at least 3 days per week.

Other Requirements:

Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc.), databases (SQL, etc.), and programming (XML, HTML, Java, or ETL frameworks) Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (Excel, SAS, Python, R, Snowflake, DBT, etc.) Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy Our story…so far Founded in 1989 and headquartered in Dallas, Texas, PLA is a national supply chain solutions provider offering Pallet Management Services, 3PL Services, Reverse Logistics Services, and Freight Brokerage & Transportation Management Services, handling over 115 million pallets per year for over 1,500 customers.
