Job Description:
Data Warehouse Analyst is needed in the Enterprise InformationManagement group to perform data integration (ETL -Extract-Transform-Load) activities. This resource will work on theClearinghouse to CDW Data Integration project and the CAIS V2 to V3and Generic Assignment Module project for CDW.
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for design, construction andimplementation of ETL (Extract, Transformation and Load) processesfor the Data Warehouse solution at. The ETL Developer will workclosely with the Lead Data Warehouse Analyst and use theirknowledge of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence fromgathering requirements through implementing solutions forretrieving, loading, combining and summarizing data from multiplessystems into the Data Warehouse. This is a technical developmentrole, heavily involved in technical design, development, unit andsystem testing activities relating to Data Warehouse data loadutilities and processes.
Essential Functions:
Analyzes source system data to understand the data structure,definitions and anomalies. Interacts with customers as needed to better define and understandthe general reporting requirements. Interacts with other technical team members to establish ETLrequirements and designs. Designs, develops and implements ETL processes and procedures foran Enterprise Data Warehouse solution. Ability to program in SQL to perform the data query, extract,transformation and load functions. Documents ETL designs in a clear and concise manner. Participates in the testing and implementation of new or enhancedETL processes and procedures.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of Relational, Star Schema and Dimensional databasemodeling techniques. Knowledge of Demoralized and Reporting table database modelingtechniques. Strong ETL Design and Development skills. Strong SQL query, SQL DML (Data Manipulation Language) andrelational database design skills. Ability to clearly and concisely document all ETL and SQL processesand Job and Scheduling information. Ability to read, interpret and develop Data Flow Diagrams.
Required Education:
Minimum two years experience in large data warehouse projects fromdesign through production support strongly desired. Minimum five years of SQL Development and two years of which are inData Warehouse ETL development experience. Minimum two years experience with SQL Server 2000 or 2005 RDBMS,required. Minimum two years experience with SQL Server DTS or
SSIS ETL
