Department of Family Medicine & Community Health has an excitingopportunity for a full time Data Analyst 3 position. The incumbentperforms advanced data analysis using various techniques. This roledetermines best practices and develops actionable insights andrecommendations for the current business operations or issues. Keyresponsibilities include advanced business data interpretation,such as identifying trends or patterns of complex data sets, anddesigning complex databases and dashboards to optimize statisticalefficiency and quality. This role also works collaboratively withinternal and external clients and serves as a subject matter expertregarding compensation-related concerns.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Performs advanced data analysis using various techniques, e.g.,statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, datamining. Determines best practices and develops actionable insights andrecommendations for the current business operations or issues. Performs ad-hoc analyses and reporting to aid management in thedecision-making process. Builds dashboards or reporting systems forend users, and designs predictive modeling or other data miningcapabilities. Designs and develops complex databases and dashboards tooptimize statistical efficiency and quality. Provides advanced business data interpretation, such asidentifying trends or patterns of complex data sets. May handlespecial analytical projects as needed. Provides support and training to applicable staff regardingdata management and use. Locates and defines new process improvement opportunities;proactively identifies opportunities to enhance data collection,quality, and accessibility. Develops and implements systems to capture business operationinformation. Acts as a subject matter expert and advises less experiencedanalysts. Defines data elements and establishes policies and proceduresrelated to the collection, accuracy, quality, security, andmaintenance of data. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and proceduresand safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

DEPARTMENT ADDENDUMA

dataanalyst in a primary care service line will play a critical role inusing data to support decision-making, optimize clinical andoperational outcomes, and enhance patient care. Gather data from UChart, scheduling systems, and other sources.

Ensure data integrity and accuracy by cleaning and validatingdatasets. Maintain databases and build automated data pipelines forefficient reporting. Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such aspatient access, no-show rates, provider productivity, and panelsizes. Provide dashboards and visualizations to help leadersunderstand trends and outcomes. Generate routine and ad hoc reportsfor administrators, providers, and quality teams. Analyze patient flow and clinic utilization to identifybottlenecks or inefficiencies. Evaluate performance against benchmarks for preventive care andchronic disease management. Provide data to support qualityimprovement projects. Work closely with clinical, administrative, and IT teams toalign data efforts with organizational goals.
