Analytics and Integrated Planning:
The Analytics and Integrated Planning (AIP) division brings expertise in strategic planning, advanced data analysis, data reporting, and institutional research with the explicit purpose of leveraging institutional data to enable robust decision making across the university.
AIP partners with university colleges, departments, and other areas to coordinate analytic activities and discover insights in support of university goals. These partnerships serve to improve UCF’s analysis capabilities and infrastructure.
The Opportunity:
Analytics and Integrated Planning is seeking an experienced data analyst to join our team. The Enterprise Analytics Specialist II conducts data analysis by creating queries, generating data models, and providing reports that deliver actionable information to business leaders. This position involves ad-hoc analytics and visualization activities, including defining data requirements, data collection, processing, cleaning, analyzing, and visualization. The successful candidate will have experience using analytics and visualization platforms to create, deploy, and maintain reusable analytical solutions, including interactive dashboards.
Responsibilities:
Identifies data requirements and conducts data collection, cleansing, and analysis to complete recurring and ad-hoc data analyses and reports.
Participates in requirements gathering sessions to understand the purpose behind the research questions and/or data request.
Uses the Central Florida Education Ecosystem Database (CFEED) to identify insights into student progression across all educational levels.
Enhances analysis findings through data visualization.
Designs, develops, and maintains interactive dashboards using Power BI.
Supports stakeholders by effectively communicating analytical findings.
Trains end-users on the proper tools, interpretations, and findings.
Creates and maintains detailed documentation of processes and methodologies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years’ professional experience as a data analyst.
Experience querying and analyzing large datasets.
Experience using business intelligence tools to transform data into relevant information for use by others.
Experience creating and maintaining interactive dashboards.
Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and senior administration.
Agile, versatile, flexible, and able to adapt to evolving priorities.
Demonstrates ability to prioritize and handle multiple-projects with attention to detail in a deadline-oriented environment.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team-based environment.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
