The Data Analyst will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting complex data sets, delivering insights, and recommendations to our business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, detail-oriented, and have a proven track record of using data to drive business decisions. The analyst will serve as a mentor for more junior level staff members on items related to established best practices and procedures.

Your responsibilities will include:

Analyze and interpret large, complex data sets using statistical and analytical techniques Develop data-driven insights that can be used to guide business decisions and optimize business processes Collaborate with other departments to identify business requirements and provide solutions and recommendations Engages in analytical design; identifying and developing segmentation, action, and performance characteristics; gathering and cleansing data; applying thorough testing and quality controls throughout all analytic project phases Communicate results and insights to stakeholders through presentations and data visualizations Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in data analytics and identify opportunities for applying them to business problems Train and mentor junior analysts to improve their analytical skills

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required. Major in Math, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or Data Science preferred Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Information Systems, Data Science preferred FLMI designation preferred Minimum of 2 years of experience in data analytics required or a combination of directly relatable education and/or experience Ability to write complex database queries using SQL is required. Working knowledge of R and/or Python development Strong mathematical skills to help collect, measure, organize and analyze data Experience with Microsoft PowerBI, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Azure Services, Word and PowerPoint preferred Insurance and Farm Bureau knowledge preferred The ability to function effectively in the workplace as exhibited through one’s integrity, courage to act and communication skills The ability to work with others effectively as exhibited through one’s respect for people and commitment to teamwork The ability to meet organizational goals and customer expectations as exhibited through one’s accountability for results, commitment to service and initiative The ability to perform the essential functions of the job as exhibited through one’s growth in job knowledge and professional development
