JOB SUMMARY

Identifies, collects and maintains timely, accurate and complete cancer information following the standards and requirements of accrediting agencies.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Associate’s degree in Cancer Information Management or another health related field. Completion of college level Anatomy and Physiology I & II and Medical Terminology I & II. LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or

REGISTRATION

Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) or attainment of certification within one year of hire required.

RHIT, RHIA

preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Performs case ascertainment to maintain a complete registry database. Collects clinical data in accordance with the American College of Surgeons and the state cancer registry established data sets. Performs life-time follow-up on a monthly basis to assess outcome data. Performs at established quantitative work standards to meet departmental goals and objectives. Performs at established qualitative work standards to meet departmental goals and objectives. Promotes registry development.
