In this position, you’ll harness the power of data to support audit activities across various state agencies. By transforming complex datasets into actionable insights, you’ll help identify opportunities for improvement and ensure responsible stewardship of public resources. This role offers an exciting blend of technical analysis and collaborative problem-solving, working alongside auditors, investigators, and agency stakeholders to drive data-informed decision making. What You’ll Do Data Analysis & Insights Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from diverse state government agencies Identify meaningful trends, anomalies, and patterns in financial and operational data Develop sophisticated data models to support audit findings and recommendations Collaborate with audit teams to provide data-driven insights that enhance investigations Create compelling dashboards and visualizations that clearly communicate complex findings Process Improvement & Innovation Assist in automating analysis and reporting processes to improve efficiency Contribute to predictive models and risk assessments for detecting fraud and waste Implement best practices for data management and analysis Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with relevant regulations Communication & Collaboration Present findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders Translate technical insights into clear, actionable information Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to address complex challenges Support the development of data-informed audit strategies What You’ll Need Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Business Analytics, or related field (Master’s degree a plus) 3+ years in data analysis, preferably in government, auditing, or financial sectors Technical proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or similar programming languages Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills Knowledge of auditing principles or governmental accounting (preferred) Familiarity with machine learning and predictive analytics (a plus) Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills Why Join Us As a Data Analyst on our team, you’ll contribute directly to improving government operations and accountability.
