Reporting & Data Analyst – Personal Risk Services 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars Whitehouse Station, NJ The Personal Risk Services (PRS) Reporting and Analytics specialist applies P&C insurance knowledge, analytical decision frameworks, and BI reporting tools to provide detailed results analysis. This data-focused role requires the ability to mine various data sources and analyze reports to summarize conclusions on business trends. The position works closely with PRS partners in leading complex projects to understand business challenges, determine and implement the appropriate metrics or analytical response, and communicate performance and outcomes.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Demonstrate technical expertise in the utilization of reporting and BI tools to independently monitor results, perform analysis, draw conclusions, and report on key business metrics Provide thought leadership on prototyping metrics and reporting solutions to give clear and concise recommendations to business stakeholders Continuously learn and leverage existing subject matter expertise on business concepts and underlying data sources to quickly respond to complex ad hoc requests, understand and articulate shortcomings of the data, and project expected outcomes Understand the appropriate reports and KPI’s to apply to business challenges with the ability to articulate pros, cons, and any potential shortfalls of the metrics or data; leverage that understanding to improve or develop new KPI’s as warranted Routinely create and distribute standardized dashboards, data visualizations, and memos that communicate business findings to senior management Independently lead data implementation projects of varying complexity including identification of issues, prioritization, requirements, testing, and integration into production processes

Requirements:

3-5 years analytical or business intelligence experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience in math, actuarial science, or data analysis Solid understanding of personal lines insurance concepts including sales, pricing, and underwriting Highly effective analytical/problem solving and research skills Inherent desire to research new data sources and develop new metrics and analytical processes Proficiency working with various data sources to aggregate metrics and draw conclusions Ability to maintain progress on multiple tasks and adjust quickly to meet business priorities Highly effective communication skills both verbal and written Ability to liaise between highly technical staff in IT, analytics developers, and end-user business partners and quickly identify, communicate, and address roadblocks Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, business leaders, and external partners Proficiency with use of a variety of business intelligence tools (i.e. Qlik Sense, Power Query and Power BI, SQL, Python) is a plus The pay range for the role is $75,000 to $92,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
