The City of Syracuse Citizens Review Board is currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of Data Analyst.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE POSITION
  • Identify appropriate methods for analyzing and interpreting both qualitative and quantitative data
  • Designs, maintains, and uses data resources as required
  • Analyze and interpret qualitative and quantitative data to inform Common Council and initiatives, including grant funding
  • Create Reports from Information entered into IAPRO
  • Contact complainants for missing information required for IAPRO
  • Answer office incoming telephone calls and direct caller to appropriate personnel
  • Greet all visitors that come to the Citizen Review Board (“CRB”) office and inform the Administrator of all visitors.
  • Maintain a log of the discussions with all visitors. Input case related information into IAPRO
  • Review Syracuse Police Department Reports and input Officer information into IAPRO
  • Input conclusion of case into IAPRO
  • Assist with writing Quarterly, Annual, and Special Reports with Data from IAPRO
  • File Management and maintenance
  • Open case files and enter information on master case list
  • Electronic file management and maintenance
  • Upload information to the CRB social media pages and designated City Webpage
  • Review the CRB website weekly to ensure the website is updated appropriately with meeting minutes, agendas, member terms, biographies, and outreach activities and materials.
  • Review cases files for deadlines related to related to OOPS reports, CRB Investigation, Hearings, and Civil Service.
  • Set deadline reminders for Syracuse Police Department reports, CRB Investigation, Hearings, and Civil Service.
  • Maintain the history of the Citizen Review Board and Legislations
  • Explore the relationship between the Syracuse Police Department and its citizens through newspapers, etc.
  • Supports the development and maintenance of electronic databases; develops web dashboard for executive analysis
  • Develops reports and presentations for Administrator approval and dissemination to community, Common Council, Mayor, etc.
  • Collects, analyzes, and interprets data to inform improvement and change initiatives for community engagement, etc.
  • Other office related duties depending on the needs of the
CRB MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A.

Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with a baccalaureate degree and at least one (1) or more years of experience, or its part-time equivalent, in a law office or in an office environment with the goal of assisting the community; or, B. Four (4) years of work experience, or its part-time equivalent, within a community or non-profit organization, with at least one (1) or more of these years in a law office or in an office environment with the goal of assisting the community.
