Job Description
Overview:
The Senior Data Warehouse Engineer is responsible for sourcing, loading, and optimizing enterprise data warehouses and databases. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Big Data Architect and supports technical solutions and emerging technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain production databases, data marts, and data loading processes. Support data warehousing environments on AWS (S3, Redshift) and Microsoft SQL Server. Optimize database design, access, indexing, and stored procedures. Lead data quality and stewardship efforts to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness. Collaborate with business intelligence and development teams on reporting and dashboards (Tableau, MicroStrategy, Power BI). Design and maintain ETL/ELT processes for data extraction, transformation, and integration. Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure database security and business continuity. Oversee cloud infrastructure, including AWS Identity and Access Management, EC2, S3, Redshift, and CloudWatch. Manage data integrity, including distributor data accuracy and EDI processes. Work with cross-functional teams and external contractors to ensure project success.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Business, or Computer Science. 3+ years of AWS experience (Redshift, S3, MongoDB). AWS Solutions Architect preferred. 5+ years in database/data warehouse development and management (SQL, ETL/ELT). Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, MicroStrategy). Strong SQL skills and cloud platform experience, preferably AWS.
