Designs and develops large data warehouse solutions using Oracle, Snowflake, and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Works as a member of a data engineering team responsible for developing high quality data solutions in a multi-developer Agile environment according to design and coding best practices. Builds large distributed data pipelines using extract, transform, and load (ETL) tools (Informatica). Develops complex data transformations and business rules using SQL and PL/SQL. Works on dimensional data models (Star and Snowflake models) using Power Designer. Contributes to team goals and project flow using Jenkins and Udeploy. Develops reports and dashboards using reports tools (PowerBI). Implements Linux commands and shell scripting.

Primary Responsibilities:

Navigates data held within transactional, warehouse, and data lakes to communicate findings to squad leaders, data analysts, and business partners. Coordinates software system installation and monitors functions to ensure specifications are met. Develops software system testing and validation procedures, programs, and documentation. Develops software applications and adheres to architecture standards. Develops applications and documents of moderately complex scope. Provides application support by diagnosing and resolving technical problems. Performs unit and integration testing. Performs post-installation testing to identify and resolve technical problems. Develops technical modules. Performs technical and functional analysis for projects of moderately complex scope. Researches, designs, and develops computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Updates software or enhances existing software capabilities.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Data Engineer (or closely related occupation) performing Informatica ETL and Oracle database development to support HR data engineering capabilities in a financial services environment. Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Data Engineer (or closely related occupation) performing Informatica ETL and Oracle database development to support HR data engineering capabilities in a financial services environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) developing extract, load, and transform (ELT) pipelines to migrate data to and from Snowflake data store, using Python, SQL, Amazon Web Services (AWS) SDK, and Snowflake; developing data models using Power Designer; and loading data from flat files and JSON into Snowflake, using SnowSQL. DE performing code migrations using GitHub, Jenkins, Udeploy and Control-M scheduler; and performing SQL performance optimization for 1+ TB size data volumes. DE performing ETL operations using Informatica Power Center and Metadata Manager; developing data masking solutions using Unix shell script; and creating functional and technical design mapping templates and solutions for data migrations, using Workday I Loads. DE performing data profiling and analysis using Informatica Data Quality (IDQ); preparing, analyzing, and portraying business metrics using BI reporting tool (Power BI); and pre-processing data to identify data observability (macro trends) in Snowflake, using SnowPipe loaded xml files. #PE1M2 #
