Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Data Engineer / Data Engineering Architect to drive the strategy, design, and execution of enterprise-scale data engineering solutions. This role will be responsible for establishing best practices, leading cross-functional teams, and aligning data initiatives with business goals. The candidate will be a technical authority, owning data architecture, innovation, and governance across hybrid cloud environments.

Job Responsibilities:

Serve as the technical leader for the Data Engineering team, defining IT processes and technology strategy
Create and maintain data engineering roadmap aligned with enterprise objectives
Drive innovation by staying current with data engineering trends and tools
Lead the discovery, design, and implementation of large-scale data projects (on-premise and cloud – preferably AWS)
Align business processes with data architecture strategies through collaboration with senior management
Own and lead architectural design of data projects, ensuring adherence to standards and governance
Oversee implementation of data lakes, ingestion pipelines, data warehousing, and master data management
Evaluate third-party solutions and recommend customization or integration
Facilitate Agile development, working with product owners to translate requirements into technical deliverables
Support and develop team members by providing technical leadership and growth opportunities
Ensure secure, governed, and scalable data architecture frameworks

Required Skills:

14+ years of technology experience, with 12+ years in Data Engineering & Data Management
7+ years defining data architecture across on-prem and cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
Extensive experience with tools like Talend, BODS, Python, PySpark, Kafka, APIs
Strong SQL and NoSQL database knowledge
Experience in data pipelines, ingestion, transformation, and metadata management
Expertise in data modeling tools (Erwin, ER Studio) and visualization platforms (QlikView, Tableau, etc.)
Experience in streaming and big data systems
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and leading technical Agile teams
Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to present complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Skills:

Experience with hybrid infrastructure migration and integration
Familiarity with data governance frameworks and security protocols
Knowledge of message queuing and big data architecture best practices

Certifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
