Were lookingfor a Senior Data Engineer to help build and scale the nextgeneration of our data platform. Youll work on systems that handlehigh-throughput data ingestion, processing, and enrichment•serving as the backbone for our customer data platform (CDP). Responsibilities In thisrole, you’ll: Build and maintain scalable data pipelines usingSpark, Scala, and cloud-native services. Improve the performanceand reliability of our real-time and batch data processing systems.
Contribute to platform features that support key customer-facingproducts such as Identity resolution, audience segmentation andreal-time personalization. Work closely with Staff and PrincipalEngineers to execute on architectural decisions and implementationplans. Collaborate across product and engineering teams to deliverhigh-impact, customer-facing capabilities. Write clean,maintainable, and well-tested code that meets operational andcompliance standards. Required:
5 years ofindustry experience in backend or data engineering roles. Strongprogramming skills in Scala, Java, or a similar language. Solidexperience with Apache Spark or other distributed data processingframeworks. Working knowledge of batch and stream processingarchitectures. Experience designing, building, and maintainingETL/ELT pipelines in production. Familiarity with AWS and toolslike Parquet, Delta Lake, or Kafka. Comfortable operating in aCI/CD environment with infrastructure-as-code and observabilitytools. Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Desired:
Experience with Trino, Flink, or Snowflake. Familiarity with GDPR,CCPA, or other data governance requirements. Experience withhigh-scale event processing or identity resolution. Exposure tomulti-region, fault-tolerant distributed systems Location This rolewill be remote, but is not eligible to be hired in San Francisco,CA, Oakland, CA, San Jose, CA, or the surrounding areas. Based inNew York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California (outside ofthe San Francisco Bay area): $133,400.00•$166,700.00 Based in theSan Francisco Bay area,
California:
$148,200.00•$185,200.00. Thisrole may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan andcorporate bonus plan. All roles are generally eligible for thefollowing benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirementaccount, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parentalleave. The successful candidate’s starting salary will bedetermined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such asskills, experience, and geographic location.
