GCP Data Engineer – Dataplex

Key Responsibilities
Design and implement features for consistent data governance, security, and privacy policies across diverse data environments using Google Cloud Dataplex. Ensure effective role-based access control (RBAC) and compliance with organizational standards.
Utilize Google Cloud Dataplex to develop automated tools for discovering and classifying structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data, improving metadata management and ensuring users have a clear understanding of data assets.
Leverage Dataplex’s built-in tools to automate data quality checks, monitoring rules, and data lineage tracking to improve the reliability and trustworthiness of data across all stages of transformation.
Data Integration and Scalability:
Work on creating a unified data ecosystem with Google Cloud Dataplex that integrates data from various sources and systems like data lakes, warehouses, and databases to provide a seamless experience across large-scale, distributed environments.
Enable better collaboration by developing features that allow users across teams and organizations to securely share and access data, ensuring data transparency and fostering a data-driven culture.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Strong expertise in Google Cloud Dataplex services, including data governance, security, and data quality management features.
10+ years of experience in designing and deploying data management solutions using Google Cloud Dataplex, integrating data lakes and data warehouses.
Experience in data lineage, metadata management, and role-based access control (RBAC) within Dataplex.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python.
Solid understanding of cloud platforms (preferably Google Cloud) and Dataplex services.
Familiarity with data processing frameworks like Apache Spark, BigQuery, and cloud storage solutions.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with advanced analytics and machine learning in Google Cloud Dataplex.
Knowledge of the latest cloud-native technologies and data architecture principles.
Proven track record of developing and deploying enterprise-grade data platforms on Google Cloud”
