is seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist – SME to join our innovative, customer-focused team in Huntsville, AL. This opportunity is for a potential full-time position, contingent upon contract award. Job Type On-site Summary The Data Scientist – SME will lead advanced analytics and AI/ML for a federal government program upon contract award. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of delivering impactful data science solutions in secure environments. Responsibilities Serve as the lead data science expert on high-priority projects, guiding technical direction and strategy. Architect and implement scalable machine learning and AI solutions for complex, mission-critical problems. Mentor and guide junior and mid-level data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate operational needs into data-driven solutions. Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and federal standards. Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and government clients. Qualification Active Top Secret clearance Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (advanced degrees preferred) 10+ years of related experience in data science, machine learning, or AI, with increasing levels of responsibility. Required Skills/Technologies Expertise in Python, R, and other data science tools and frameworks. Deep understanding of machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling techniques. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data ecosystems (e.g., Spark, Hadoop). Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting defense, intelligence, or federal agencies. Familiarity with secure data environments and classified data handling. Experience with MLOps, model governance, and AI ethics frameworks. About
