Job Description:

Specializes in data science, analytics and architecture. Strongexperience/knowledge on framing and conducting complex analyses andexperiments using large volumes of complex (not alwayswell-structured, highly variable) data. Ability to source, scrub,and join varied data sets from public, commercial, and proprietarysources and review relevant academic and industry research toidentify useful algorithms, techniques, libraries, etc. Assists inefforts to centralize data collection and develop an analyticsplatform that drives data science and analytics capabilities. Deepdomain experience in Apache Hadoop, data analysis, machine learningand scientific programming. Understands how to integrate multiplesystems and data sets. Able to link and mash up distinctive datasets to discover new insights. Designing and developing statisticalprocedures and algorithms around data sources, recommending andbuilding models for various data studies, data discovery andpredictive analytics tasks, implementing any software required foraccessing and handling data appropriately, working with developersto integrate and preprocess data for inputs into models andrecommending tools and libraries for data science that areappropriate for the project

Required Qualifications:

5-10 years ofplatform software development experience ? 3-5 years of experiencewith, understanding and knowledge of the Hadoop ecosystem andbuilding analytic jobs in MapReduce, Pig, Hive, etc. ? 5 years ofexperience in SAS, R, Perl, Python, Java, or other languagesappropriate for large scale analysis of numerical and textual data? Experience developing static and interactive data visualizations.? Strong knowledge of technical design and architecture principles.? Creating large scale data processing systems. ? Driving designand code review process. ? Ability to develop and programdatabases, query databases and perform statistical analysis. ?Working with large scale warehouse and databases, sound knowledgeof tuning and query processing. ? Excellent understanding of entiredevelopment process, including specification, documentation,quality assurance, debugging practices and source control systems.? Ability to understand business issues as they impact the softwaredevelopment project. ? Solves complex, critical problems related tosignificant and unique issues. ? Ability to delve into large datasets to identify useful trends in business and develop methods toleverage that knowledge. ? Strong skills in predictive analytics,conceptual modeling, planning, statistics, visualizationcapabilities, identification of best data sources, hypothesistesting and data analysis. ? Familiar with disciplines such asnatural language processing (the interactions between computers andhumans) and machine learning (using computers to improve as well asdevelop algorithms). ? Writing data extraction, transformation,munging etc. algorithms. ? Developing end-to-end data flow fromdata consumption, organization and making it available viadashboard and/or APIs. ? Bachelor’s degree in software engineering,computer science, information systems or equivalent. ? 5 years ofrelated experience; 10 years of overall experience. ? Ability toperform activities, tasks and responsibilities described in thePosition Description above. ? Demonstrated track record ofarchitecting and delivering solutions with enterprise customers. ?Excellent people and communication skills. ? Processing complex,large scale data sets used for modeling, data mining, and research? Designing and implementing statistical data quality proceduresfor new data sources ? Understanding the principles of experimentaltesting and design, including population selection and sampling ?Performing statistical analyses in tools such as SAS, SPSS, R orWeka ? Visualizing and reporting data findings creatively toprovide insights to the organization ? Agile Methodology Experience?
