We are looking for a Head of Data Sciencewho shares our vision of building sophisticated risk models toadvance small business lending. In this role you will lead a teamto develop best-in-class credit risk, fraud, verification, and leadresponse models. The candidate is expected to have a strong datascience background, statistical expertise, strong machine learningexperience, and a passion for solving problems in innovative waysto drive business results.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Build and manage a team to develop best-in-class machinelearning models for managing credit and fraud risks, pricingoptimization, and sales lead routing programs. These models willenable real-time lending decisions for hundreds of borrowers everymonth. Strong background in leveraging multiple complex data sourcessuch as credit bureau information, customer supplied information,cash flow information, and alternative data sources at a largescale to build sophisticated credit and fraud models. Collaborate with product and engineering teams to build arobust AI/ML model development platform for development as well asdeployment of models into production environment. Coach and mentor team in evaluating new statistical andmodeling approaches and alternate data sources to drive bettercredit decisions. Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identifyopportunities for leveraging company data to drive businesssolutions. Hands-on leader, who can provide vision to the team, andwilling to roll up sleeves to code, develop models and coach teamon writing better queries and develop sophisticated algorithms.
AnIdeal Candidate Looks Like This:
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics,Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Finance, etc.). Master’s / PhDdegree preferred. 10+ years’ experience in fintech or financial services applyingadvanced statistical and machine learning models and artificialintelligence predictive modelstechniques. Expert knowledge in statistical programming languages such asPython, R, and database languages such as SQL Knowledge of advanced statistical modeling, testing (testcontrol setup), data mining, ETL, and data science techniques. Experience using GCP, Snowflake, and/or Hadoop systems fordistributed analytics and data processing. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
