Job Description :
Minimum Education:

PhD in ChemicalEngineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a focus onOptimization during graduate studies.

Experience:

Minimum of 10years of experience in numerical optimization roles in industry.

Additional experience in academia in the field of numericaloptimization is a bonus.

Travel Requirements:

Domestic andinternational travel up to 25% to manufacturing sites.

WorkSchedule:

Monday-Friday 40 hours with overtime as required.

Immigration Status:

Must be eligible to work in the US for aminimum of 18 months

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, andimplement large-scale optimization models, including linearprogramming (LP), non-linear programming (NLP), and mixed-integerlinear programming (MILP). Collaborate with supply chainspecialists, planners, operations teams, and engineers to defineoptimization problems and translate business needs into objectivefunctions and complex processes into mathematical constraints.

Formulate optimization problems for model predictive control (MPC)applications and enhance existing MPC frameworks. Specify andgather data requirements for optimization problem formulation,working with data scientists and engineers to preprocess data.

Develop optimization solutions using tools like Gurobi, Pyomo,AMPL, and MATLAB. Build optimization models from scratch andimprove existing models to address challenges in manufacturing andscheduling. Work with business leaders to understand workflow andbusiness logic and translate these into mathematical formulations.

Use machine learning and data analysis techniques to defineparameters, rules, and constraints for optimization problems.

Collaborate in interdisciplinary teams and communicate optimizationresults effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Document solutions and provide training to manufacturing andengineering personnel as needed. Build LP, NLP, and MILP models forlarge-scale optimization problems. People want to travel 1 or 2trip to the site Develop optimization models from scratch andenhance existing ones. Solving the Optimization Problem with theoperation process Module No regular travel; only occasional sitevisits Ideal for candidates with a graduate-level background inoptimization and hands-on modeling experience Required SkillsExpertise in convex optimization, MILPs, NLPs, and large-scaleoptimization solvers (e.g., Gurobi). Proficiency in programminglanguages such as Python (with Pyomo), MATLAB, and AMPL.

Optional:

familiarity with GAMS or MiniZinc. Experience working with Git andversion control systems. Strong ability to translate businessprocesses and workflow logic into mathematical models. Ability tocollaborate with interdisciplinary teams and communicateeffectively with technical and business stakeholders. Strongproblem-solving skills, teamwork, adaptability, and communicationskills. Ms Office Prefered Skills Preferred tools like Pyomo, AMPLDesired Skills Familiarity with machine learning and data analysistechniques to support optimization problem formulation. Experienceworking with supply chain specialists, planners, and operationsteams. Ability to identify and define objective functions based onbusiness needs and workflow constraints.
