Atlanta, GA. 30308 Hourly pay: Up to $74 W2 only NO C2C !!! •Due to client requirements, only US Citizens may apply•The Sr. Data Modeler will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining data models within our Snowflake data warehouse environment. This role will focus on translating business requirements into efficient and scalable data models, ensuring data integrity, and optimizing data access for reporting and analytics. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of dimensional modeling, data warehousing principles, and hands-on experience with Snowflake.
Responsibilities:
Data Modeling & Design:
Design and implement logical and physical data models in Snowflake, adhering to best practices and enterprise standards. Develop dimensional models (star/snowflake schemas) to support business intelligence and analytical needs. Create and maintain data dictionaries, data lineage documentation, and data model diagrams. Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective data models.
Snowflake Development & Optimization:
Utilize Snowflake features and functionalities to optimize data storage and query performance. Develop and maintain SQL scripts for data transformation and loading. Monitor and troubleshoot data model performance and identify areas for improvement. Implement data quality checks and validation processes.
Collaboration & Communication:
Participate in data governance initiatives and ensure compliance with data security and privacy policies. Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver data solutions that meet business needs. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior data modelers.
Data Analysis & Problem Solving:
Analyze existing data structures and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement. Troubleshoot data-related issues and provide timely resolutions. Conduct data profiling and analysis to understand data patterns and anomalies.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience:
3+ years of experience in data modeling, with a focus on data warehousing and business intelligence. Proven experience designing and implementing data models in Snowflake. Strong understanding of dimensional modeling concepts (star/snowflake schemas). Proficiency in SQL and experience with data transformation and manipulation. Experience with data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, ER/Studio, DataGrip). Familiarity with data governance principles and practices. Experience working in a Financial services environment is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Snowflake certifications. Experience with cloud-based data warehousing platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery). Knowledge of data integration and ETL/ELT processes. Understanding of banking industry data and regulatory requirements.
