Come break through withus. Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from beinga manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipmentto being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading opticalsolutions across the broader communications industry.

This segmentis classified into two main product groupings – carrier network andenterprise network. The carrier network product group consistsprimarily of products and solutions for optical-basedcommunications infrastructure for services such as video, data andvoice communications. The enterprise network product group consistsprimarily of optical-based communication networks sold tobusinesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Scope ofPosition:

Supports the development and deployment of data-drivensolutions for OC division by leveraging data science and machinelearning technologies to address complex business challenges.

Applies an in-depth understanding of business processes and dataanalytics to build and implement transformational solutions. Worksunder general supervision with technical oversight and contributesto key project milestones. May take ownership of moderate-sizedprojects or multiple components within largerinitiatives.

Responsibilities:

Develop and deploy fit-for-purposedata science solutions as part of cross-functional projectteams.

Support and enhance existing data models, algorithms, andanalytics solutions to optimize business performance.

Accuratelydeliver project commitments within defined timelines.

Collaboratewith project team members and business stakeholders to design,test, and deploy data solutions.

Build and maintain effectivepartnerships within business digital teams to foster a data-drivenculture.

Provide insights and guidance to business functions on databest practices, analytics methodologies, and predictive modelingtechniques.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or higher inData Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a relatedquantitative field.3+ years of hands-on experience with dataanalysis, predictive modeling, and machine learning using Python,R, JMP and SQL.Proven ability to work in a highly matrixedenvironment and collaborate across multiple teams.

Strong analyticaland decision-making skills, with the ability to translate businessproblems into data-driven solutions.

Proactive and adaptable mindsetwith a willingness to take initiative.

Strong leadership, verbal,and written communication skills, including the ability to presenttechnical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Ability to analyzecomplex systems with a broad operational perspective, identifyingpotential failure modes and proactively addressingissues.

Commitment to thorough documentation and knowledge-sharingto promote long-term efficiency.

Understanding of statisticalmodeling, feature engineering, and performance evaluationmetrics.

Desired Skills:

Hands-on experience integrating machinelearning models into business applications.

Experience working withlarge-scale datasets.

Familiarity with cloud data platforms such asDatabricks, AWS S3, Parquet, and Delta Lake.

Familiarity with MLOps,model deployment, and monitoring frameworks.

Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependenton a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited togeographic location, market demands, experience, training, andeducation.
