Our core operations depend on our procurement team’s performance, and the role is critical to the team’s success. To ensure that the transition from product acquisition to sales is effectively and efficiently achieved, the Data Specialist performs the important background work that prepares the products and the products’ information for presentation on our website and on store’s shelves. Therefore, to assist and encourage our customers’ buying decisions, the Data Specialist is expected to: Collaborate with Product Managers and Marketing and perform necessary research to learn products’ uses and features in order to gather inducing information to present to customers. Use available resources (e.g., supplier representatives, supplier portals and existing databases) to create compelling, complete and detailed product descriptions that inform customers and motivate sales, including product reviews. Follow best practices and be resourceful to collect and present product details in a clear and concise manner with consistent formatting. Keep a complete and up to date listing of attributes and features on each item, including the list of included items that accompany each product. Attain and maintain best-in-class images presentation curating main images and high-quality additional image files. Categorize items properly to ensure proper display on the company website so that customers’ searching and browsing experiences are optimized. Improve customers’ purchasing experience by accurately presenting additional suggestions and recommendations that will increase their satisfaction, using the following tools: “Must Have Accessories” “Related Products” “Customers who bought this item also bought” Apply a robust matrix of levers when the team agrees to launch promotions. Ensure that guidelines are followed to maximize SEO results. Maintain the Product Database and publish its status daily.
The Product Database:
Is the master list of all SKUs, inventory levels, rate of sales, reorder points, reorder quantities, product purchase costs and product sales prices. Serves Marketing and Store Planning to support signage, token and marketing needs as relates to product detail and promotion support. Must be accurately maintained and updated, and daily action items are triggered based on the resulting statuses. Requires continuous quality assurance oversight to ensure accurate, predictable and actionable information. Adheres to data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality and integrity. Track and report the satisfactorily completed action items that ensure that the company’s lifeline continues to seamlessly fill the website and store offerings. Create weekly analysis report of the rate of sale, inventory levels and product profitability, and coordinate with Product and Category Managers to find opportunities for improvement. Be aware of seasonal trends and planned events to better inform the procurement team of purchasing requirements. Possess the fortitude to timely and respectfully communicate with teammates if an error is identified in any product information and/or the Product Database. Accept additional duties assigned by your supervisor, as needed.

in field related to Information Systems, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Marketing or Business Administration. Experience
